ROB SEZ: The new deluxe reissue of The Queen Is Dead is great, and the live disc from a show in Boston, MA in 1986 is fine. But what I really want to hear is a show from this tour when the crowd is going nuts, and the band is on fire. If you have similar inclinations, give these a try.

Soundsville Steve says:
Not much to say about this show I'm afraid. I recorded this from a little way back on the left side of the hall. It was a great gig though. Barrowlands has a formidable reputation, and the crowd more than lived up to expectations ... inspiring the band to put on one of the best shows I've seen. This was the first outing for the five piece Smiths, and Johnny was clearly enjoying the extra freedom. They played Ask for the first time ... which I always rather liked. The live version that is ... I was slightly disappointed with the single version when it came out, which seemed to have lost some of its sparkle.
Anyway ... I came away with quite a good recording I think. Again this was recorded using my Sony Professional Walkman with Sony EMC-929LT Mic onto Metal tape
HUGE THANKS to Soundsville Steve for recording & sharing this at smithstorrents!
