Four Live Sets
2000 World Tour

FM captures + 1 webstream (sound quality VG+ to Ex-)

ROB SEZ: Massive talent Matt Johnson released the last The The studio album NakedSelf, then promptly embarked on a lengthy world tour in 2000. This is a snapshot of that tour in four sets. Please enjoy.

BIG THANKS to ziggyswoon for sharing, and to nateup2late for sharing, for pointing me to the MBE web stream, and suggesting how to fix the original Melkweg share.

Quite sincere thanks to Don at the old ASH blog.

ROB SEZ:
If you marvel at Matthew's finished studio tracks, spend a little time with these works-in-progress. You get to hear the roots of his genius and the songs in their earliest incarnations.
The second set is a particular treat, containing well-developed, multi-track recordings
(in fact, they sound like they're basic tracks or rough mixes).
MS is now a year past the deadline for completing his Kickstarter-funded new album project
He explains himself in this interview from July 2015, saying he's working as fast as he can,
given the high standard he's set for himself and the music.
(OK, Matthew, but as one of your backers, please don't wait too long to wrap it up!)
Ric Menck & Paul Chastain (Velvet Crush) played on the first batch of tracks
recorded for the project.

Demos 1994-'95
recording locations & dates unknown

soundboard (quality VG+ to Ex-; sounds like a first-gen. source — quality is excellent)

NOW HEAR THIS - a change is gonna come

Dear dB's Repercussion blog followers,
I have some big job-related changes coming at me right now like a freight train. This means I soon won't have as much spare time as I'd like for the blog.
HOWEVER: this is not one of those "I'm shutting down the blog" posts.
Instead, I'm cutting back the frequency of posts from 2 per week to 1 per week. Starting immediately, I will alternate between ASH Tuesday posts and the Friday (non-ASH) posts. You can still expect to find something new and musically tasty here, every week. (There'll be an ASH Tuesday post tomorrow, so come back then.)
All in all, this is not a huge change, but one that will help me keep my sanity in the coming months.
SO: KEEP COMING, KEEP READING, and PLEASE LEAVE SOME COMMENTS!

     Cheers,

        Rob-in-Brevard

In his original post, Don said:
The magnificent and sadly missed Will Owsley tours his second and final album, The Hard Way in this “Nashville Sunday Night” WRLT Broadcast. One of the great unacknowledged Power Pop artists, he spent most of his time as Amy Grant’s guitarist and musical director, as well as touring as lead guitarist for Shania Twain. His debut album, Owsley, was Grammy nominated. This broadcast shows what great pop he wrote and what a fine guitarist he could be. Superb show and highly recommended.

ROB SEZ: I might never have heard about Owsley and his fabulous rock-pop music if it weren't for my pals at the old ASH blog. All thanks & praise to them. (I have more to share, but need to know you're interested...)

Owsley:
Paul Eckberg - drums
Will Owsley (RIP) - vocals, guitar
Jonathan Hamby - keyboards
Millard Powers - bass
