ReplyDeleteMuch appreciation all round.
Your appreciation is appreciated!
DeleteMitch Easter is one of my musical gods. And although I'm not really one for live recordings, I've scooped up every single live Mitch set you've posted. And this one is even historical: the earliest live recording! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog. Jangle Pop is like music from heaven for me. Keep up the good work!
Don
Music from heaven, indeed!
DeleteCheers, Don.
Wow! I haven't heard this set before. A friend (not Tom) gave me a copy of his recording and I was thinking that it was this show. Turns out it was their other Viceroy Park appearance. If you want it, let me know. Oh and any chance that you have their 1982 Milestone appearance? That was a great show as well! (Warren Peace)
ReplyDeleteHI Warren - I do have R.E.M.'s other show that year at Viceroy Park, but not the '82 show at the Milestone. Sorry about that...
DeleteHi. I worked at Viceroy Park and REM only played there once...
DeleteThis is a gem of a set. Great sound, rare early tracks, an amazing combination....
ReplyDelete(to clarify, I was talking about the L.A. set...)
DeleteIndeed! Pretty unique in the L.A. "canon".
